Storm Creek’s STORMX Technology

STORMX styles from Storm Creek provide waterproof and breathable protection by keeping the wet weather out while allowing moisture vapors to leave the body.

The OUTER LAYER is treated to make water bead up and run off your jacket.

The CORE LAYER is the STORMX membrane which does all the work to make your garment waterproof and breathable. The membrane pores are too small for water molecules to pass through, but large enough to allow water vapor to escape from your body.

The LINING MATERIAL adds quality performance and protects the STORMX core.

You will find the STORMX technology in the following styles:

Our Technology

Quality Performance

The words quality and performance are commonly used with apparel companies. When it comes to quality and performance Storm Creek’s standards are set high. Great quality must perform in the area for which it was designed.

At Storm Creek we define quality performance outerwear as fabric, features and style specifically designed to perform around activity and climate.

Moisture Wicking

Comfort starts with staying dry. Many of our linings and materials are made with moisture wicking technology - which draws body moisture away from the skin to increase dryness and comfortability.

4-Way stretch

Garments created with 4-Way stretch capability allow the fabric to stretch in any direction VS. 2-Way stretch which is more restrictive and typically means a garment stretches either up and down or side to side. 4-Way allows for more comfort and freedom.

Stretch

Many of our fabrics allow freedom of movement through the addition of elastic fibers after or during the construction of the fabric so the wearer has a tighter fit with maximum mobility.

Embroidery Zipper

Windproof

Wind is the great chill factor. We make many of our garments with windproof fabrics to improve their ability to keep the wind away from the wearer’s body.

Waterproof Fabric

Our waterproof fabrics are designed to keep the water from penetrating through the fabric and coating or membrane. We often use chemicals to repel water off the surface to keep it from penetrating the fabric.

Water Resistant

A special test is performed to determine the amount of water resitance each fabric has. Generally water-resitant garments will keep the water out in a light rain.

Waterproof Zipper

A waterproof zipper is constructed so the teeth are not exposed to the outside so water beads up and run off the zipper. They have a rubbery appearance and can be heat sealed to the garment.

Breathable

The ability to allow moisture and heat vapors to escape from the wearer’s body to avoid overheating and discomfort.

Taped Seams

Are stitched seams with the tape applied with a special machine that heats the seam during application to keep the moisture from penetrating through the needle holes.

Extended Sizes

Many Storm Creek garments are offered in larger sizes like 4X,5X, and Large Tall, XL Tall, and 2X tall.

Relabel

Many Storm Creek jackets are designed so a corporation can label them with their own label or special label for an event.
